My first Blog

Ahhhh, another beautiful day in paradise! As always it is a mighty fine day to be alive!
Greetings to my family, friends, and whomever else it may concern. Truth be told, I have been hesitant to join the blogging world; it had seemed a bit narcissistic. However, as I age and 'wisen' I realize that keeping in touch with  people is utterly important. A friend once told me that relationships are like plants; they might not need daily attention but leave town for a month, and you'll probably come back to a withered, moldy, shriveled up piece of death. My first and foremost reason for starting this is so I can more easily keep in touch with all the lovely people I've met along the way.
The second reason, which may be more entertaining for readers, is to chronicle my attempts at never growing up and continuously learning and adventuring. As I go places and do things, I will do my best to accurately and entertainingly report upon them, both so I can look back one day and so other people can know what is going on in my life. So, as far as plans go, these are in the making:

The Talladega Race: I have dubbed this the 'redneck mecca.' If you can't get plumbing, tire service, or meth the second weekend of April it is because a million plus NASCAR fans are all in Alabama for one of the biggest races of the year, and they are camping for free outside the stadium. Think music festival with no music or Mardi Gras with no parades, except for a parade of the fastest stock cars in the world that is.

Florida: May spend a few weeks with my gifted great uncle in the Ft Lauderdale area, there we will hopefully get to know each other better and try to record some musical collaborations. We are both rooted in the blues as guitar players and from the few times we've played in the past I think it will be a fruitful time of jammery.

Colorado: May spend a month in the great wilderness of Colorado at my uncle's place, he is into lots of extreme sportage and partying and he is one of the funniest guys around. His kid is now almost two and is a really cool little kid, and cool kids are always a plus.

Colombia: My girlfriend, one of my besties, and I will be taking on Colombia for two months or so at the end of the summer. There will be lots of Spanish-learning, adventuring, and dancing.

Other plans to return to Asia, as well as to visit interesting domestic sites are in the making, and I will likely post again soon.
GOD BLESS!
